Who Are We?

We're family.

Get Real Surfaces was founded by George and Avis Bishop in the garage of their home in 1996. With a background in structural concrete elements, George spearheaded production while Avis focused on growing the business. Today, our precast division is housed in a 20,000 square-foot manufacturing facility in the Hudson Valley and we have a fleet of state-of-the-art equipment to mobilize for on-site work.

George and Avis and their sons Jame and Paul remain at the core of the business and view every team member as an extension of their family.

We love concrete.

We’re in awe of its simplicity, integrity, and plasticity. We value its history, strength, and idiosyncrasies. To work with concrete is to work with a virtually boundless material. Let’s just say we love what we do, and we think that comes through in every project we complete.

We know concrete.

Since 1996, we’ve immersed ourselves in the world of architectural concrete and established ourselves as leaders in the field. We’re known for our unmatched technical knowledge and our ability to deliver when the stakes are high. We’re committed to honoring the history of concrete while pushing the material forward in new, unexpected ways.

We are experts, artisans, and innovators.

We partner with architects, developers, and designers who dream big, push boundaries, and strive to create beautiful, functional spaces in which to live, work, and learn.

Together with some of the world’s most innovative thinkers, we are changing the landscape of the everyday.

We work with idea people.
